Christ Community Youth Ministry

What is CCYM?

Christ Community Youth Ministry (CCYM) is a service within Christ Community Church that seeks to reach and equip youth for Christ. We desire to come alongside and support parents as they raise teenagers to be God-honoring adults (Eph 6:4). Its goal is to teach youth the word of God, help them develop a biblical worldview, and prepare them to be active members in a Bible-believing church body as they approach adulthood.

Where/when does CCYM meet?

CCYM meets weekly on Wednesday nights at 6:00-7:30 p.m. Our meetings are located in the chapel where we have a time of Bible teaching, Scripture reading, singing prayer, Catechism training, fellowship, and games. Some of our annual events include a Discipleship Now weekend retreat in the spring, Youth Camp in the Summer, and an outdoor camping trip in the fall.

Why does CCYM exist?

CCYM exists to minister to the particular needs of youth-age believers. Because the influences of this world are strong, young adults need training in the gospel message as it relates to their unique phase of life. They also need a Godly community where they can share their struggles and encourage one another in their walk with Jesus. Youth must also have an opportunity to worship and serve God in preparation for church life as they enter adulthood.

How to make the most of CCYM?

We believe the greatest benefit will come through mutual participation so we encourage moms and dads to be involved. CCYM will thrive as students and parents walk together in discipleship. Regular conversations about Bible studies, outings, service opportunities, challenges they are facing, and questions they may have are just some of the ways parents can be involved. Volunteering for special trips or activities, providing snacks, or opening your home for a youth night are other tangible opportunities to stay connected to your teenager.

Who is CCYM for?

CCYM is for young people who are 7th through 12th-grade students.
